During our many years (45 combined) in the IT industry, we have seen and heard some astounding things — hard disks emitting purple smoke,
a frustrated user throwing his monitor to the ground, the man who claimed the assembly language code on his printout was in fact some
sort of spy code. However, there is one thing we have never come across in all this time, and that is an application that runs too fast. We have never been asked to make a form save any slower. No one has requested that a query take longer to complete. It seems that our applications can never be too fast, and that application performance is always a high priority.
